Films 201307-08

Weinig films gezien, deze zomer; de meeste dan nog op het vliegtuigschermpje.

  1. Evil Dead / Fede Alvarez / 2013
Five friends head to a remote cabin, where the discovery of a Book of the Dead leads them to unwittingly summon up demons living in the nearby woods. The evil presence possesses them until only one is left to fight for survival.
  2. The Purge / James DeMonaco / 2013
A family is held hostage for harboring the target of a murderous syndicate during the Purge, a 12-hour period in which any and all crime is legalized.
Het klinkt spectaculair, maar eigenlijk is het niet meer dan een samenraapsel van ideeën uit allerlei andere films.
  3. Iron Man 3 / Shane Black / 2013
When Tony Stark’s world is torn apart by a formidable terrorist called the Mandarin, he starts an odyssey of rebuilding and retribution.
    Past in de franchise, onderhoudend.
  4. G.I. Joe: Retaliation / Jon M. Chu / 2013
The G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence.
Bad acting, dat is het overweldigende gevoel bij deze film.
  5. The Driver / Walter Hill / 1978
A professional driver (Ryan O’Neal) steals cars to drive as getaway vehicles for big-time robberies in Los Angeles. Hot on the Driver’s trail is the Detective (Bruce Dern), a conceited cop who refers to the Driver as “the cowboy who’s never been caught” and is willing to go to any length to bring him down. The Detective becomes so obsessed that he sets up a bank job in order to entice, trap, and ultimately arrest, the Driver.
  6. Sisters / Brian De Palma / 1973
The Staten Island apartment of lovely model Danielle becomes the scene of a grisly murder that is witnessed by her neighbor, Grace, a reporter. But the police don’t believe her story, so it’s up to Grace to solve the murder mystery on her own.
Vintage De Palma; heerlijk vind ik dit.
  7. See Girl Run / Nate Meyer / 2012
A young adult woman decides to revisit her past relationships in order to find some guidance in her current life.
Welke film was dit ook alweer?
